So far, I really like this book. I feel like this book is really immersing me into the experience of trying to find Halliday's fortune. At first I though that Wade was never going to come close to being the first gunter to find the first clue. I thought that another gunter must have already found the first clue seeing as there are so many other ones out there. But now, I think that, since he is tied with Art3mis, they will both reach the final location, AKA the fortune at the same time because that is how these things end up going, what with Art3mis finding the bronze key almost right after Wade did.
They are both headed straight for the first gate now and I think Art3mis is going to beat Wade to it even though Wade found the bronze key sooner. Because, from what I can tell so far, Art3mis spends more time on the simulation than Wade does. If this were to happen in real life, I would handle it like the lottery. I'd always know that there would someone ahead of me because I would be trying to get good grades in school to try and get into a good college. I would know that my chance of winning were pretty much none and I would give up on it probably about a half-year to a year after it got started. I really like the idea of this book and where it is going. I am looking forward to reading the next section soon.

Over Spring break I didn't do much, just stayed at home mostly. My family doesn't usually travel over Spring Break, it is usually summer when we travel big, so we just did the usual stuff. Like, going on bike rides, doing chores and hanging out with friends. Sometimes, we would go on bike rides as a family. One of the bike rides we went on, was 5 miles, which is not that long but it seemed a lot longer than that because my sister was complaining for the majority of the ride.
Whenever we weren't all together as a family, My dad was usually down in the garage trying to organize tools; My mom was usually doing chores, and we (me and my sister) would help her with the chores. The house actually got to a state of almost totally clean, and then, my dad decided that he was going to fix the leak in our kitchen sink that had been there for at least ten years. He ended getting the entire kitchen backed up or full of things like bowls and plates. Also, while he was fixing the leaky pipes, he discovered that the hose to connect the dish washer was also leaking. So we didn't have a dishwasher to do dishes with or a sink. Meanwhile, we were still using dishes. So, by Sunday we had no bowls left. And, by the end of Sunday, we had 1 of the 2 sinks (the one that actually mattered) fixed and the dishwasher; and no leaks, which is a big bonus and why my dad started the project in the first place. We had to take our oldest pet rat to the vet one other day, but other than that, we had a pretty empty and great spring break. Well, for starters, Night was a little more in-depth about what went on in the inside of the concentration camps. The Boy in the Striped PJs was more about what lifchmuee was like outside of the concentration camps at that time, and some of the propaganda that Hitler was telling the public. The Boy in the Striped PJs was more about the affects that the holocaust had on the public and less about the affects of the Holocaust to the people in the concentration camps like Night was.
Elieser vs Schmuel: With Elie, it was more about how the Holocaust effected his religion and him as a person. As well as how the concentration camps operated and how it effected people inside of them as well as families. And, in my opinion, Elie is a more complex and developed character than Schmuel is. Schmuel, on the other hand is a more shy and cautious kind of person that isn't as developed as Elie. But, is a less complex character and easier to understand. My thoughts and understandings about the Holocaust have not changed very much after reading Night and watching The Boy in the Striped PJs. I liked the movie better because it let us see the Holocaust and get an idea of what it looked like as well as telling a good story. Words of the Wiser Pg 89 One died because one had to. No point in making trouble. The life lesson from this is, that people in the concentration camp only died because they had to and they didn't really have a choice. And most of them were still clinging to a sliver of hope that they would get out of the concentration camp alive. Memory moment Pg 100 The narrator is talking about how desperate the prisoners on the train Buchenwald are and that they would trample each other and try to strangle each other. And how, years later, he witnessed a similar scene. This memory was important because it made the narrator remember his days in the concentration camp and it just shows how much of a mental scar that the Holocaust left in the hearts and minds of people that were in the Holocaust. Contrasts and Contradictions Pg 102 The narrator is explaining how the toughest and healthiest man, in the train car to Buchenwald, his son was strangled by someone who was trying to get a piece of bread that was thrown onto the train car by someone who was watching the train go by. Then he started to break down and cry. The character felt this way because his son was strangled by someone who just wanted a small piece of bread. This shows how desperate and malnourished everyone was in the Holocaust. The things that I would prioritize if I was the president of the United States would be; #1, make colleges more affordable. One of the main reasons why a lot of Americans don't go to college is simply because of the cost. The cost of going to college will keep many paying bills on far after they are done. Even with a grant or a scholarship, many colleges are still in the tens of thousands of dollars to go to. I don't necessarily think that college should be free, but I would substantially lower the cost to maybe around 3,000.
#2, Another big goal if I were president of the US would be to create a system to get rid of trash other than the landfill, because the trash in the landfill contributes to global warming and that would also be something that I would want to do something about. #3, I would like to get rid of global warming, I know it's never going to happen but if you don't try then it's surely not going to happen, right? I would like to alert people of the effects so that they we as a country could start making movements towards stopping it. I it one of the most dangerous threats to our planet right now. And if we don't do something to stop it, it will consume our planet, rising the oceans levels, making a lot of continents go underwater and making winter unheard of. It would also melt the poles making a lot of species go extinct. These are some of the things that I would do if I was president of the US Over winter break I went sledding with my family and again with friends. I got a new game for Christmas and I really like it so, I've been playing it a lot. It is called Star Wars Battlefront and I really enjoy it. I am also working on a project so I worked on that too.
My grandparents moved in to town so we didn't have to drive two hours to go see them on Christmas. We didn't go anywhere special over the break, we just stayed home. I slept in a lot andm, had a few friends over. Me and my sister and my dad starteed playing this strategy game that I like called Axis and Allies that was really fun but mainly, we just hung around the house. I think that all of these are valuable life skills. In fact, I see my parents using them every day. I think that the ones that I see used most offen are, talking to strangers and managing money. I see a lot of adults with little money and I think that if they could manage it better then they could have more money now. And I see adults talk to strangers all of the time, for example; at a grocery store when you are checking out. Or if you see a stranger on the sidewalk.
I can deal with deadlines pretty well and I can sort of run a household. I can kind of manage money (I need to work on that one a little). I can talk to strangers better than the average person my age. I can mange a work load. However, I can't find my way around as good as i would like. I can deal with ups and downs but, I really can't deal with interpersonal problems. And I can kind of takee risks. I would change the school approved websites because the sites that they kick you for are ridiculous. I went to play a game about cats the other day and it said that the website was not school-approved.Some of the other websites are that are banned make no sense. I think they should develop a new system of deciding which websites to ban.
Things that I am thankful for:
